Is it possible to practice law without attending law school?

I will be graduating in Spring with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. I hope to eventually attend law school, but I was curious about whether or not it's possible to pass the bar & practice without attending law school? I figured it might be frowned upon or make you less appealing? Any ideas?
